This policy explains what personal data we collect on laplafishing.se, why we collect it, and what rights you have. We keep it short and specific - if anything is unclear, write to us at [email protected].
1. Who we are

2. What we collect and why
Booking requests and messages
When you send a booking request or contact us (by form, email or WhatsApp) we receive the details you choose to share: your name, email address, phone or WhatsApp number, travel dates and the content of your message. We use this to answer you, prepare your booking and provide the trip - the legal basis is taking steps at your request before entering a contract, and performing that contract (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)). Messages sent over WhatsApp are also processed by WhatsApp/Meta under their own terms.
Newsletter
If you subscribe to our newsletter, we store your email address (and name, if given) with our email service MailerLite and use it only to send you the letters you signed up for. Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)). Every letter contains an unsubscribe link; unsubscribing removes you from the list.
Website analytics
With your consent, we use Google Analytics 4 (loaded through Google Tag Manager) to understand how the site is used - pages visited, approximate location by country, device type. IP addresses are not stored by GA4. Legal basis: consent (Art. 6(1)(a)); you can decline or withdraw it at any time in the cookie settings.
Advertising measurement
With your consent, the Meta Pixel helps us measure whether our ads on Facebook and Instagram lead to visits and enquiries, and lets us show ads to people who visited the site. Legal basis: consent (Art. 6(1)(a)).
Technical logs
Our hosting provider processes IP addresses and request data in server logs to deliver the site securely and defend against abuse. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running a secure website (Art. 6(1)(f)).
3. Cookies
Cookies are small files stored in your browser. We group ours into three categories; only the first works without your consent.
- Necessary - remember your cookie choice and currency selection. Lifetime: up to 12 months.
- Analytics (Google Analytics:
_ga,_ga_*) - anonymous usage statistics. Lifetime: up to 14 months. Set only with consent. - Marketing (Meta Pixel:
_fbp) - ad measurement and retargeting. Lifetime: 3 months. Set only with consent.
You can change or withdraw your choice at any time via the cookie settings on this site, and delete cookies in your browser settings.
4. Who receives your data
We share personal data only with the service providers that run this site and our communication, acting on our instructions:
- Google Ireland Ltd - Tag Manager and Analytics
- Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd - Meta Pixel, Facebook/Instagram, WhatsApp
- MailerLite Ltd - newsletter delivery
Some of these providers process data outside the EU/EEA (notably in the United States). Such transfers rely on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and/or the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
We never sell your personal data.
5. How long we keep data
- Booking enquiries and correspondence: up to 3 years after our last contact, so we can serve returning guests.
- Booking and payment records: 7 years, as required by the Swedish Bookkeeping Act.
- Newsletter data: until you unsubscribe.
- Analytics data: up to 14 months.
6. Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask us at any time to:
- access the personal data we hold about you, and receive a copy;
- correct inaccurate data or complete incomplete data;
- delete your data ("right to be forgotten");
- restrict or object to processing;
- receive your data in a portable format;
- withdraw a consent you have given - this does not affect processing that happened before.
Write to [email protected] and we will answer within one month. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY, imy.se) or your local supervisory authority.
7. Children
Our services are aimed at adults; we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. Guests under 18 fish and stay with us under the responsibility of an accompanying adult.
8. Changes to this policy
When we change this policy we update the effective date above. Meaningful changes will be announced on this page.
9. Booking cancellation policy
You may cancel your booking at any time before arrival by e-mail. The date we receive your e-mail counts as the cancellation date. The following share of the total booking value is payable:
| Cancellation received | You pay |
|---|---|
| more than 60 days before arrival | 10% of the booking value |
| 60 to 31 days before arrival | 50% of the booking value |
| 30 days or less before arrival | 100% of the booking value |
Not showing up on the arrival day counts as a cancellation and is charged at 100%. Amounts already paid are set off against the fee; any balance is refunded within 14 days.
Fishing conditions and weather are not guaranteed and are not grounds for a refund. We recommend travel insurance that covers cancellation.
