I took my son on a graduation trip and we did not have much experience in fishing. The team was very patient with us, taught us the basics and took us to the best fishing spots. We got to fish all day long - small streams from land, large rivers and lakes by one of the many boats they have. Would highly recommend Lapla to all for an all-inclusive fishing experience.

Questions, answered
What does a spin fishing package at Lapla Fishing include and what does it cost?
Lapla Fishing offers self-guided spin fishing packages on the lakes around Storuman, Swedish Lapland, from 1 May to 30 September. Guests fish for northern pike, perch, grayling, brown and rainbow trout, whitefish and Arctic char from their own boat with engine and trailer; the lodge fleet also includes a North Silver 615 with Garmin LiveScope. The standard package is 5 days of fishing with 6 nights self-catering in an apartment at Lapla Lodge - one boat for two guests or two boats for four. Prices start at €1,223 for two guests and €1,645 for four, VAT included. A local guide can be added for any day at €214; the fishing licence and the car transfer to the fishing spots are extra.
When is the spin fishing season in Swedish Lapland?
The open-water season runs from 01 May to 30 September - from hungry post-winter predators in spring, through 24-hour daylight in midsummer, to the aggressive fall bite.
What fish can I catch spin fishing around Storuman?
More than seven species in the local waters: Northern Pike, Perch, Rainbow Trout (records up to 7 kg), Brown Trout, Grayling, Whitefish and Arctic Char - the famous "Red Gold" of Lapland.
Can I add a fishing guide or a bigger boat?
Yes. A local guide who reads these lakes can be added for €214 per day (up to 6 hours). You can also upgrade to the VIP boat - a North Silver 615 Fish Sport with Garmin LiveScope and a Minn Kota trolling motor - or book a boat transfer to waters most visitors never reach.
Is the fishing licence included in the packages?
No - fishing licences (fiskekort) are personal and vary by water, from 50 SEK per day. We help every guest sort the right licence on arrival; it takes minutes.
How do I get to the lodge?
By air: fly to Stockholm, then a short domestic hop to Vilhelmina Airport (VHM, 1 h to the lodge), Lycksele Airport (LYC, 1 h 45 min) or Umeå Airport (UME, 3 h 30 min). We pick you up from there - airport transfers from €51, free with some packages. You can also rent a car and drive to us yourself; parking at the lodge is free.
